Bus Ride

23rd September, 2011 : Bus Ride
I stepped onto the large tourist bus and made my way to the first available seat, 3 seats down from the door. I put my backpack next to me and stared out the window as the rest of the passengers slowly boarded the bus. An air of excitement seemed to resonate off the passengers getting onto the bus but all I could feel was a sense of dread mixed in with a sense of adventure. The tour guide stepped onto the bus and announced that we were leading for the Airport. I didn't know why I was on the bus, but I did know I was heading for Paris. The ride was fairly still as I stared out the window at the blue of the sky and the houses passing by. Whilst staring I saw a house that looked a lot like mine and I knew I had to tell someone at home to. There was a sign stuck to the back of the driver's seat stating the use of mobile phones was forbidden, however i knew I had to get the message across. I unzipped the front pocket of my bag and slipped my phone out. Instead of texting my family I logged onto facebook and left a message on my sister's wall. I didn't know exactly what the message said but it was regarding something that was "meant to happen". The tour guide started to yell at me and I noticed behind him in the window some black birds flying. I put my phone back in my bag as he continued to yell at me, and then he fell down. The road began to twist and turn and in front of me I watched as the road became quite hilly. The bus driver continued to navigate his way up and down and making sharp turns and I couldn't shake the feeling that we were driving too fast for this sort of road. The bus driver swore as he swerved dangerously on the road, missing the telegraph pole by a centimetre. He loudly assured us that it would be alright and he was used to this sort of road. I stared out the front window, seeing the dark clouds gathering. I turned my head out to stare and couldn't shake the feeling that it seemed to get darker outside as we drove. The suburbs seemed to get darker and the houses began to change. The seemed to get creepier and looked more abandoned and haunted as we continued driving. I put my jacket on and wrapped my arms around me to hide the shiver I just got and to reassure myself that it was okay. The bus halted to a stop and I felt my body shift forward, my head hitting the seat in front of me. Bags fell from the seats however I began to lose sight of them. I sat up and looked around, the people on the bus seemed to disappear leaving me with the out guide and the bus driver. I couldn't help but notice how dark it was outside and how I couldn't make out any of the houses or anything anymore. The bus suddenly jerked upwards as if picked up by an unseen force and then all of a sudden we were thrown sideways. The bus came down hard into a tree. I felt my body hit the windscreen first and I was thrown from the bus. I landed hard on a stone path. I swore as I picked myself up off the ground. I brushed the rocks from my palms and dug out the piece of glass which had embedded itself into my palm. I tossed it aside and stood up looking around. I wasn't sure where I was, but I knew I was no longer in the same country I was in before. Something felt weird where I was and I began to head back to the bus, hoping to find my phone so I could call someone for help. As I walked through the deserted street, I couldn't shake the distinct feeling I had that I wasn't alone. I reached the edge of town and I could just see the last of the sun's rays disappearing behind a mass of black, which was strange because the sun looked like it was in the middle of the sky. Everything began to get really dark and cold. I ran for the bus which was just up ahead. The bus itself was upside down and the windows were completely gone. There were dints on the bus like it had rolled to be in the position where it landed. The floor around it was covered in shattered pieces of glass, some blood and the occasional leaf. I went up to the bus and leaned down to peer inside. I saw myself laying there, a bus seat on top of my torso. Confused I went to move inside when I felt a hand on my shoulder and a voice say "follow me", I went to turn except I heard my phone ring. I could see sitting in the glass, vibrating and providing a small stream of light. I reached for it. Then I woke up to a phone call.

House of Horror

22nd Septermber, 2011: House of Horror

I watched the dark waves around me reach at the boat, lifting it up and down and tossing it like it nothing but a small plastic bag in the wind. Splashes of water reached over the rim of the tiny canoe and splashed down, ice cold against my legs. The guy in front of me turned and grinned as he lifted his oar and slide it effortlessly through the rough water to propel us forward. I could see in the distance small specks of light flickering, almost inviting me to join them. I leaned forward and asked the guy if he could go any faster. He grinned at me and continued at the same pace. Somewhere in the distance, thunder rumbled the sky lit up in angry flashes. The water got choppy and I felt more and more water slipping into the canoe. I felt the boat twist underneath the water. The oar slipped from the guys arms and he yelled as he lunged forward to grab at it. Unable to reach it as it was stole away by the sea, he turned and grabbed me as the boat turned over. It was quiet underneath the water. I couldn't see the boy any more, or feel him near me. I tried to break for the surface but I could feel the heaviness of the water dragging me further and further down. My lungs began to ache with a need to breathe and I reached higher and higher. I began to see spots in the water, dark spots which seemed to appear out of no where. I reached higher and higher and then finally reached the surface. Taking a deep breath in I looked around me. The boat was nowhere to be seen. Turning around I made out a figuring floating in the water as the lightning flashes again. The rain hit down hard, making it difficult to see. I swam towards the figure and reached out for the boy. I turned him over and saw his eyes were closed. Holding him onto me I looked for the lights. The rain poured down under, I felt the water sweep me away and holding on to the boy I struggled to move against the water. A large wave hit me, hard against my back. I was thrown underwater. I struggled to reach the boy as he drifted away from me. Dark spots appeared in front of my eyes, clouding my vision. I moved for the surface but was tossed back, again and again.

I woke up on a beach covered in sand. I slowly peeled myself off and went into the water to wash what was remaining of the sand off me. I looked down the shore and saw the boy lying on the sand. I moved over slowly to him, my arms and legs arguing from the strain. I turned him over and he coughed up water. He sat up looking confused and staring into the trees. I turned and looked in his direction as a man walked out. He helped the boy up and motioned for us to follow him. I walked after him into the trees. We seemed to walk for a long time, all the trees and areas looking the same, the same vines hanging low on trees, brushing against my hair as I ducked under them. We came to a cleaning with many wooden huts. People came out to see what was going on. He paraded us around the camp before leading us to a house. He pointed inside and simply said "rest". I opened the wooden door and let it creak. The house was nicely furnished and the lights shone brightly lighting up every inch of the house. I wondered why the people chose to live in huts outside with such a nice place right there. The boy and I walked into the spare bedroom where a bunk bed sat. In the corner of the room was an old wardrobe. I pulled open the first draw and pulled out a shirt and a pair of shorts. I quickly changed out of the wet clothes and into them. The boy threw on a pair of shorts and a blue t-shirt. We noticed a few backpacks sitting by the bed and opened them. They contained a flash light and some food. I pulled out a chocolate bar and began to eat. We heard noise coming from one of the other rooms and I walked over and knocked on the door. In the room were several other people. They told us that they had also been in an accident and were staying there for the night in a hope rescue would come. I thought it was weird that there was so many accidents but thought little of it. The boy and I went back to our room and turned the light off. He switched the tv on and the light lit up the room. He began to flick through the channels as I lay on the top bunk half asleep. I heard a scream some time later and opened my eyes. It took me a minute to work out where I was and the tv was still lighting up the room. The boy was gone so I picked up a flash light and headed into the hallway. The hallway had streams of blood across the walls and splashed across the floor. I headed for the door where the others were and knocked. No one came to the door so I turned the handle. The room was dark and I reached for the switch in the doorway. My hand brushed something as I tried to turn the light on and off. The light turned on for a second then the bulb exploded sending the room into complete darkness. I turned the flash light on and shined around the room. The room was empty but blood splattered the walls and furniture. In the corner I could hear a strange sound. My light hit a girl who was chewing on an arm. Her hair was a mess and her eyes were completely black. She lunged forward at me and I slammed the door closed. I could hear her scratching at the door and it sent shivers up my spine. I walked along the corridor, but I didn't hear a sound from everywhere. I turned left into the next corridor and into the shared bathroom. The room was dark, and barely lit by the lamp by the mirror. I walked past the cubicles, checking each one for people inside them. It was quiet.. I could hear the dripping of a tap on the vanity and the sound of water spilling onto the floor. I turned and saw the first cubicle floor had water coming from it. Assuming the toilet had clogged I continued towards the back. I heard a shuffle of a noise as a couple of the girls entered the room. I yelled at them to be careful, but they turned. They seem to stare at me for a minute. I stared back only to realise they were staring at something to the right of me. Slowly I turned and came face to face with a figure I couldn't quite recognise. The features distorted in a haze. The thing rushed at me and I hit the tile floor hard. I turned as it passed through the girls and watched as their eyes slowly became dark. Their faces grew menacing as I struggled to get up. I reached for something to pull me up and grabbed onto a cord. Lifting myself up I noticed the cord was a hair straightener which was plugged in. The girls came closer and closer to me, with no means of escape I turned the straightener on and threw it at the group, hoping to hit the water and electrocute them. The hair straightener bounced and landed in the water. Nothing happened. I looked at the powerpoint and the cord had been dislodged and the turned off. I plugged it in quickly and turned the switch on. The room lit up in a blue haze as the girls screamed. I ran quickly, as the screaming had brought the attention of others. The hazy figure seemed to dash in and out of rooms and the house seemed to get darker. I ran through the corridor, feeling them behind me before I ran into someone. I struggled to get away from them as a hand clamped over my mouth and dragged me into a dark supply closet. I breathed heavily, shaking as the hand held hard against my mouth. I could feel someone behind me and I wondered if this would be how I died. I could hear the sound of thumping in the hallway outside. Slowly the sound got more distant until it was a faint echo. The hand dropped and I turned, shining my flash light at the person. The boy looked at me with a sense of relief. He told me he had tried to wake me but I appeared to be dead as I would not wake for anything. He explained he had shaken me and slapped me but I didn't wake and he was afraid that whatever happened to them had happened to me. He leaned forward and opened the door and peered into the corridor. He motioned for me to follow him as we slipped into the darkness. We crept silently through the hallway until we reached the front door. I reached for the handle as a scream shook out across the room. I turned to see the white haze lunge at us. It's impact was cold as ice as it threw me through the front door and onto the front veranda, disappearing into nothing as the sun hit the porch. I breathed heavily, my chest aching from the impact. The boy sat up next to me, his arms covered in dark purple bruises. The man who had led us there walked up to us. He smiled and looked behind him. His people seemed to come up behind him and they watched as he lead us down a dark alley. I don't know why we followed him, perhaps it was from exhaustion, perhaps it was from fear. The alley seemed to be filled with faces of the people in the room. He pointed them out to us as if he was proud. Reaching the end, he smiled once more, then something heavy hit me in the head. Everything went dark.

I awoke in the room with the bunk bed. The boy laying next to me on the bottom bunk. I looked down and I was wearing a long t-shirt which was covered in blood. My head ached and I reached behind to feel blood mattered in my hair. The boy moved slightly but did not wake. I shook him and he opened his eyes. "Fuck" he said. I looked to where he was looking at the white haze stood at the end of the bed. Waiting.

Talking to Ghosts

Ghost's seem to be a common feature in my dreams lately. I'm not 100% sure what it means but lets face it, it makes for a hell of a good story.

16th September, 2011: Talking to ghosts.

I was standing in a large room filled with people. The room was dark and I could make out the stench of stale beer soaked into the small patch of carpet I was standing on. The music played lightly and I noticed the occasional flash of coloured light move across the room. The girl next to me was dressed in a red dress, very low cut and she seemed to be dancing to the music. She smiled and said to me "isn't this place great?". "Be better with a few drinks" I said as the line slowly moved forward. The guy next to me smiled and leaned over to talk to me. We had a brief conversation before the lined moved again. I told him to have a good night and continued up towards the bar. I continued to chat to the girl in red about what the night had install for both of us. I finally reached the bar and placed my clutch on there. I smiled at the guy standing behind the bar with the dark hair. He gave me a grin and turned to grab a couple of drinks. The girl in red turned to me and asked me who I was talking to. I told her I was just ordering our drinks. She gave me a strange look and rolled her eyes, pointing out the bartenders at the end of the row serving other customers. The guy from before was next to me and he smiled as if he knew something I didn't. One of the bartenders from the other end came up to take my order. I told him the other guy had already taken my order and he assured me that he was the only bartender on call that night. Strange I thought as I placed my order again. I could see the other guy standing by the door way leading into the kitchen. I pointed him out to the girl in red and told her that was the guy who took my order. She scoffed and told me there was no one there. The guy next to me told me he could see her. I turned around and told her that even the guy next to me could see her. She looked over my shoulder and said there was no one there. The guy next to me began screaming at the bartender as he put our drinks on the table and I handed him some cash. It was only then did I realise that no one else around could hear the guy, or see him, despite his constant screaming which somehow rose over the music in the background. I turned to the bartender and started repeating some of the words the guy was saying. He looked at me with a scared look on his face and mumbled that he had to go before turning to one of the girls to request she take over his shift. The girl in red took her drink and looked at me, explaining she wasn't going to deal with this and she'd see me later. She took off into the crowd and disappeared into a sea of people.

I sighed and picked up my drink. I noticed a notebook on the table covered in images. I walked back to where the tables were and ran into two guys. One of them had brown hair and blue eyes and the other one was a darker guy. The motioned to the spare seat at the table and I flopped down next to them, putting my drink down. The guy with the brown hair smiled and asked how the night was and where the girl in the red dress was. I rolled my eyes and told him she had taken off somewhere, and he laughed saying he wasn't surprised. The other guy took the notebook off me and dropped it under the table saying that he didn't want anyone else to get their hands on our song lyrics. I asked why they were even there, and he just told me they kept showing up for no reason. I picked up my vodka lemon-lime and took a drink from the straw. The two boys raised their glasses and we toasted to a night we wouldn't remember. We each took a long drink and then it went dark.

I woke up the next day in a dark room lying on a bed with the half the sheets on the floor. I looked up to see a small stream of light poking through thick dark curtains. I got up, a dry taste in my mouth and walked over to the curtain. The room smelled of stale alcohol and unwashed sheets. I pulled the curtains open and tried to open the window. The window didn't budge and I noticed the last rays of light disappear over the horizons. I picked up my dress from the night before and wondered how I ended up in the shorts I was sitting in. The boy with the brown hair got up from the floor, groaning loudly and complaining about how uncomfortable the ground was. I rolled my eyes and threw him over a t-shirt which was lying on the ground next to me. The door open and the girl in the red dress came in. She gave a laugh and asked if we had a big night. I asked her where she disappeared off to and she gave me a grin and headed over to the phone to order a pizza. I felt like I was starving, but I wasn't hungry for food. I was hungry for something else. Unable to comprehend it, I sat back down on the bed, nursing a killer headache. The guy with the brown hair got up and sat on the bed next to me. He got up and pulled the notebook out from under a sheet. I asked him where the other guy was and he just shrugged. I heard a thump at the door. The girl that was in the red dressed looked at me and said "don't open that". I rolled my eyes, knowing she was probably in some trouble I had to bail her out of. The brown haired guy came up behind me as I opened the door. The other guy stood there and behind him was the pizza delivery boy. "It's your pizza" the guy with the brown hair said. I asked the other guy where he had been and the pizza guy looked at me strangely. I told him to get out of the way I was talking to someone else. The pizza boy walked into the room and put the pizza boy. I stood in the door way with the other guy asking him why he wouldn't come in. It was only then that I noticed how pale the boy looked, how his skin seemed almost white and why he had red paint on his shirt. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. He pointed behind me to the girl in red. I looked at her and a strange look crossed over her face. She turned her gaze to the pizza boy and smiled sweetly at him. The pizza boy seemed slightly in awe as she ran her finger tips over his shoulders. The guy in the brown hair, picked up two slices of pizza and walked over to me, handing me a piece he put his arm around my waist and lead me outside telling me "guess its time we left" He closed the door behind me gently. I asked him what was going on. He looked at me as if to say "don't you know?" Muffled screaming came from the room. I turned to go back in but he held me back. He whispered into my ear, "you know how it goes, she makes the mess, we clean it up. What's wrong with you?" I asked him about seeing the dead and he smiled, he told me that's how it was now. He cleaned up the physical mess, I cleaned up the rest. It's part of being us, he said flashing me a smile. I noticed his eyes change colour from black through to blue, to green then to grey and then a tinge of orange. I looked into the glass of the picture that was hanging in the hallway. I could just make out my reflection and I could see my eyes changing colours as well. Then I woke up.

Ghost Hunting

This dream took placed a couple of days back, only I haven't had the time to sit and type it out. Thanks a lot uni. Anyways It's amazing that I have to schedule out time from my waking life, to work with my sleeping-life. This will be shorter than most, mainly because it's not fresh in my mind.

September 13, 2011 : Ghost Hunting
I was standing in my backyard next to a couple of guys. There were unloading equipment from a white van. The placed the large wooden crates on the grass near our back shed until the back of the van was completely empty. Another guy waved from the front seat and drove the car away. The two guys I was left with began to open up the crates to reveal and assortment of electronics and other items I couldn't quite identify except for the fact that they were blurry. Once everything was out, they began to set up cameras and equipment around my backyard. I looked at them and asked why they were doing this. The bigger guy looked at me and said "don't you know, we're here to deal with your infestation problem". I looked confused for a second, and glanced up at the window of the sun-room. I saw something move inside, a quick flicker across my windows and which disappeared into nothing. A heard the sound of footsteps next to me and turned to stare. I noticed that the sunlight was disappearing from the ground and a chill filled the air. I wrapped my jacket around me tight to block out the cold. The younger guy came up to me and handed me a flash light. I walked into the back section of the house, behind the garage to investigate. I couldn't shake the distinct feeling of being watched, even though I knew both the boys were in the upper section of the garden. I moved over to the fence and peered over, remember where the old Lilly Pilly tree used to be. I could still hear the old branch scratching up against the fence and the smell of the fruit fermenting on the lawn in summer, despite the brisk air out. I felt a tug on my leg and turned to peer into the darkness. I couldn't see anything so I headed over to the boys. I walked up onto the cemented area and sat down on the bench facing the grassy area. I heard a child's giggle and looked up. On the balcony of my neighbour's house was a child standing against the railing. The child was pointing into the yard and staring at me. I could see the boy had dark hair and something moving behind him. An Old woman came up behind him and put her arms around him protectively. She stared at me and a scowl crossed her face. The younger guy came up to me and sat down. He told me he felt something strange in the air. I pointed up at the balcony and the younger guy yelled for the older one. The older guy yelled at the child, telling him to get back inside. I noticed something slip between the shadows of the shed and the garden. I got up to walk over there with my flash light and what appeared to be a device in my hand that lit up at certain areas. I walked slowly and steadily over there only to notice a small white box on the ground in front of the shed. Putting the flash light under my arm I picked up the box and began to examine it. The younger guy walked over to me and asked for the box. I moved my fingers around the edges and found a latch and lifted it up. Inside were dozens of little white boxes that seemed to glow slightly, although I wasn't sure if it was just the reflection of the moon. I picked up one of the boxes as the guy grabbed the box from my hand. He looked angry and stormed off back to the older guy who was still fixated on the balcony.

The little white box on my hand began to glow and then float upwards. I noticed it began to slowly unfold itself, floating shoulder height in the dark. I could hear a giggle beside me and looked down to the boy who was on the balcony. He giggled as he tried to jump up and grab at the box. I felt a strange chill in the air and turned to see the old woman behind me. She seemed almost transparent in the moonlight at the edge of my garden. I could hear the two men at the other side of the garden calling me. They were screaming at me. I could feel a cold hand on my shoulder and I could see light hinting over the horizon. The little boy screamed loudly and I looked up to see a black crow swoop over its head. I turned to scream at the lady to help him but she was gone. The crow swooped again, this time hitting the boy and he disappeared into nothing. The bird came at me this time. I reached up and grabbed it. It pulled me along for some distance until it stopped by the back stairs. The guys caught up with me and yelled for me to kill it, stating it was the only way the little boy could be saved. One of them handed me a dagger. I lifted it high in the air, the bird screaming loudly. I looked up to the shed and saw the old woman and the boy. The both seemed pale almost see through the rays of light which were peaking over the rooftop of my house. I brought the knife down hard. A gush of wind stirred up around me. I looked up at the shed again, and they were covered in red and blood. The boy started to cry. The old lady looked disappointed. I looked down, my hands were covered in blood and I couldn't quite shake the feeling something wasn't right. I looked up at the guys. They too seemed transparent and covered in splotches of red. I looked at the bird, its head separated from its body, blood slowly spilling out, and yet the head moved. The eyes looked at me, and the bird once again began to scream loudly. Then I woke up.

Institutionalised

I know it's been a while, I've been lazy with logging lately, mainly because i've been soo busy.. Also because due to insomnia, I dreamed too vividly, and some were just too personal to share. That said.. here's the latest bundle of crazy from yours truly.

6th September, 2011
“No” I screamed as the two men on either side of me started pulling my backwards. I grabbed onto the door and held. “Let me go” I screamed I looked at a boy sitting in a chair waiting.. he didn’t get up or do anything. “Help me” I screamed at him, but he didn’t’ seem to hear. The taller man began to pry my fingers from the wooden pane. I kicked hard and I felt the second one drop me slightly. Kicking again I lunged forward and headed back out of the door way to where my parents were. I started running towards them as a doctor began to lead them outside. “You can’t leave me here” I screamed at the top of my lungs as two large, rough hands grabbed my shoulders and jerked me back. They pulled me back and lifted me off the ground. The larger of the two men had both arms around my legs so I couldn’t kick, despite how much I was trying to get away. The other man had his arms on my shoulders, carrying me down a small dark hallway. I saw the doors passing by me and it seemed to go on for a long time. Finally the guy holding my legs pushed open a set of double doors and we entered into a large room. We went across the room, I noticed a few girls seating at separate tables doing their own thing. He took me into a room and placed me on a bed. The bed was cold and I could feel the steel spring mattress in my back. I remember feeling tired as the metal door closed behind me. I closed my eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

I awoke the next morning. The door was swung open and I could see the sunlight streaming through the windows into the room. I noticed right away that there were no sheets on the bed or a pillow. I looked through the bars of the window into a grey fog that seemed to cover everything except for the sun. It seemed odd to me to look out into nothing but grey so I turned and headed into the hallway. The hallway ran in both directions and seemed cold and dark. My feet were cold against the cement floors which felt like ice. I was beginning to wonder where my shoes were. I looked downwards and wondered where my jeans were and why I was dressed in pants with no zips or buttons, and a t shirt with a loose collar. I headed back down the hallway to the main room. All the girls were still sitting at separate desks. I walked past each of them. One of the girls was sketching trees on the table, the next girl was holding a sketch book, staring at a blank page. The last girl was staring out into the grey mist, her arms wrapped around her, even though it wasn't cold. I wondered if it was a comfort thing she was looking for, but I could not tell. I sat at the desk at the far end and watched the lady in the nurses’ station. She had the radio on slightly; I could hear the chatter in the background. She chewed on her gum and continued typing methodically on the keyboard to her computer. Ignoring her I turned to look at the two big men in white standing by the doors. They seemed to just be watching and waiting. I felt a hand on my arm and turned to the doctor who had asked my parents to leave. "How are you feeling today?" he asked me. I blinked at him and turned my attention back to the girls in the room. "You’re never going to get anywhere if you don't talk to me". I turned to him, knowing my eyes flashed anger as I tried to suppress the bad feelings I was having. I sighed and got up. He grabbed my hand and yanked me downwards back onto the seat. "you're not going anywhere until you talk to me". I sat down and stared blankly ahead. Eventually he gave up and walked away. One of the girls walked up and over to a phone that I hadn't noticed before. She began dialling numbers, too many to be a phone number then screaming into the other end. I blocked my ears with my hands to drown out the noise of her screaming. The other girls seemed to respond to it, getting up and slamming their fists on the doors and the window, whatever was closest to them. It wasn't long before the nurse and the guards came over, dragging the girls to their respective rooms. I walked over to the phone and picked up the receiver. I placed the receiver to my ear and listened. I could make out the sound of a faint click and a tone which seemed to just go on. The doctor appeared behind me again. “What do you think you’re doing?” I slammed the phone back into the cradle and yelled that I wanted to go home, that I didn’t belong here. “but you do, he said, otherwise they wouldn’t have left you here. Otherwise they would have taken you home, but it was their idea”. You’re lying I screamed at him. He smiled a wry smile and handed me a piece of paper. I browsed over it and it had been signed by my parents to commit me until it was deemed I was ready to return to normal society. I lunged at the doctor, hitting him with my fists and kicking hard with my feet. The two guys in white came over and grabbed me, pulling me back as I continued to fight my way to hit him “ That’s right, keep going love, prove just how insane you really are” He said. The dragged me back into the room and slammed the door closed, locking it behind them. I banged on the door with my fists until they bleed. The pain becoming a throbbing sensation and I stood there staring at the door until I was too tired to any longer. I moved to the bed, sat down and stared out into the grey mist.
Sometime later I heard a key slide into the door and the door swung open. The girl with the phone was standing there, her black hair in a mess of knots and tangles across her shoulders. She held out her hand and wearily I got off the bed and walked over to her. She motioned for me to be quiet and we tip toed out into the dark hallway. There was no one around as she led me to the phone. She picked it up and handed it to me. I put the phone to my ear and pressed the buttons to call home. The phone rang, and rang. On the other end I heard my mother’s voice say hello. I started talking asking her why she put me there and when I could leave. I could her try to say things but her voice kept cutting out until there was nothing. I screamed into the phone to be let out of there. I screamed and screamed until tears were running down my face from being so defenceless. I dropped to my knees still clutching the receiver of the phone. The girl patted me on the head and helped me up. She pulled out a set of keys and pointed to the main door. She dragged me to my feet and towards the door where the other girls were waiting patiently. She had a look of determination on her face as she turned the key in the lock. Nothing happened. She tried another key, again nothing happened. Frustrated she dropped the keys and couldn’t remember which one she had used before. I looked around the room anxiously, watching the shadows dance across the tables, hitting the sketch book. I felt tempted to go and pick it up, however I heard the door click and she smiled at me. She pushed the door open as an alarm went blaring through the room. She grabbed my hand and ran towards the next door. Again the first few keys wouldn’t work. Hurry I yelled at her, seeing the two men at the end of the hall heading towards us. Finally she found a key that worked and pushed the door out into the garden. The garden was filled with a foggy hue as we ran towards the gates which we could just make out in the distance.  Climbing over the gate I felt my arm snag on something sharp, I winced but kept going knowing this might be my only chance.

We found ourselves on a road running up a hill. I knew that if we made it over the hill we would be on the home stretch and be free. We ran faster and faster but the hill seemed to get steeper and stepper. The girl sketching on the desk fell behind, and I noticed a strange blue flash of light. Then I noticed a different look in her eye as she ran after us. I wasn’t sure what the look was so I continued running. The girl grabbed the girl who had been staring out the window by the food and dragged her into the fog. There was another flash of light and then both of them, wearing similar expressions seemed to start running after us, a look of determination on their faces. The incline again seemed to get steeper to the point where I was climbing up the tar road using my hands to lever me up. I felt that if I let go, even for a second, I would fall downwards. I looked back to see the two girls, the men, the doctor and the nurse from the hospital chasing after us. They seemed to be holding long rifle like objects which were hard to make out. I finally reached the top, my arm was aching and my nails were bleeding from the rock surface. The other girl had disappeared entirely as I ran down onto the main road. The main road itself was deserted. There were no cars, no houses, nothing but an ongoing road that didn’t seem to end. One of the girls shot a slim spear at me. It hit me hard in the arm as I ran towards the houses I could see. Again she shot more and more at me, I watched as they embedded themselves onto the pillar of the porch I had reached. I ducked down, hiding behind it, hoping to find something I could use against her. I could feel them approaching as I dove behind the seat that was hanging on the porch. I scrambled my way to the back of the house, testing all the windows and doors, trying to find a way in to escape them. Everything was locked. I climbed over the fence and started towards the next house, again a bunch of thing toothpick like spears embedded themselves onto the wooden pain. I tried another window; it wouldn’t open so I picked up a pot by the side of me and slammed through the window. I climbed through, cutting my hand on the glass. I landed on my back, hard on the floor by the window.

Then I noticed I was lying on a steal bed, with a thin mattress. I turned my head to see the doctor standing there. He swore and said “put her back... give her a nice ending, hurry”. I could see the nurse standing by a machine. She started typing furiously as I tried to lift my arm. I noticed restraints on my arm and the taller man in white standing at the end of my bed, his arms folded. “Hurry up the doctor repeated’. I looked out the window; the grey fog was rolling in over an old dead tree. I blinked and I was standing in a small room. The window behind me was broken. I looked outside, there was no one there. I walked into the hallway and followed it to a set of double wooden doors. I pulled it opened and stepped in another hallway, lit with lights. The girls were standing there, all smiling. I shook my head, knowing this wasn’t real, but somehow the pull of it was strong. The girls were all laughing and wearing cocktail dresses. They had a glass of champagne in their hands and were talking to people I didn’t recognise. I headed down and felt a tap on my shoulder. My parents stood there smiling and handed me a book. They told me someone was waiting for me in the other room. I walked into the other room which was darker except for the gentle hue of a light in the corner. There was a desk set up on the far side of the room and a boy sitting there, his head bent down scribbling on a piece of paper. I smiled and walked up there, putting the book on the desk I asked for a signature. The guy didn’t look up. He simply said “who do I make it out to”. I held back a laugh and said “how about to Kerri?” He looked up and it was the same boy from the room before. A look of shock and relief went through his eyes as he walked around the table and threw his arms around me in a hug. “We’ve been looking for you everywhere, where have you been?” He put his arm around my waist as we walked out into the main room. Everyone was gathered around and talking, saying that we had made it. I couldn’t shake the feeling something wasn’t right. I looked to the corner of the room and saw the doctor standing in the shadows. He stood there, and just watched. The sight of him sent a chill through my body. I turned to the boy; he leaned over, whispered to me and said, “You’re still in the room. It’s not over yet’. Then I woke up.

Shadows and Wattle

This dream, isn't like one of my normal ones, it's not frightening it's just weird. I couldn't quite help shake the sense that this felt more like a memory as opposed to a dream, although things like shadows don't really come up in reality. That said I was in the body of my 5/6 year old self so maybe it was more of an impression of something I had. So here we go, and since this is a hard dream to describe I'm going to rummage up some images for you. Also for those of you who have never seen wattle, here's an image to help picture it.

I was standing outside my grandfather’s house except instead of being in my usual dream body,  I was in the body of my 5 or 6 year old self. I had just gotten out of the car and was looking up the long driveway of my grandfather’s house. I remember asking my mother why we didn’t park closer, but she didn’t reply. She had gotten out of the car and headed up the driveway, along the path and up the stairs to my grandfather’s house. My sister and I headed to the front clearing just before the gate of the house, where we always used to play. The clearing was basically a dirt area with a few trees scattered along, and spanned 3 houses across. I walked up to the tree that I always climbed, the one where I sat in the tops of as a kid and jumped out at my uncles as they walked by looking for me to tell me dinner was ready. Up in the tree I thought I saw a shadow moved up the branches. I started up the tree only for my sister to come out and yell for me to get down, that people were coming. I looked down the road and into the cul-de-sac, to see my uncle’s car coming up the drive way. My cousin got out of the car… and walked over to me.  I pointed up in the tree and he looked up and said there wasn’t anything there. He pointed over to the wattle tree and told me to go there and get something. I walked up to the tree. The yellow flowers seemed exceptionally bright amongst the bright green of the leaves and the slight brown of the wood that poked out between the flowers. I reached into the tree, passed the flowers to reach for the trunk of the tree. The yellow flowers seemed to lean away and then move back to touch against my bare arm. I began to feel itchy along my arms and I jerked backwards. Looking down at my arm, red bumps began to appear and get itchy. I looked back at my cousin who was gone, and I noticed my other cousin down in the cul-de-sac. I couldn’t quite see what he was doing but I remember feeling like it was something I should roll my eyes to. I rubbed my arm lightly and watched as the bumps disappeared. Weird I thought. Another shadow passed over the tree and back into the clearing. I walked back in there and again tried to climb the tree. My sister called out from the balcony.  I turned to look at her and she told me I needed to head inside. I climbed over the wood fence and across the garden to the stair case. I walked up the stair case, looking out at the clearing. The sun was beginning to set over the top of it. I stopped at the top of the balcony, watching the shadows which seemed to watch me, moving up and down the tree. I heard a whirring sound and saw something coming at me. I ducked quickly as an arrow shot against my head and into the house behind me. A rope was attached to the arrow and seemed to be pulled straight. I looked at it for a second and ran my finger along the rope to the railing. The rope went underneath it and I wondered why if someone was going to put one there, they would put it so low to the ground of the balcony. I saw the rope jerk down and then bounce back up. I felt something was looking at me and looked out towards the tree again. I saw something coming at me and watched as a basket slid along the rope. The basket smacked the railing and bobbed there for a second. I lifted the lid of the basket and a black fog seemed to come out of it and disappear behind me. I reached into the basket and my fingers brushed something soft. I lifted it out only to see I had a handful of wattle.  My hand began to itch and turn red. I dropped the wattle and it floated on the wind down towards the trees and shadows. I could make out a faint laughter and feel a shadow wrap around me. Then I woke Up.

The drive way leading down to the cul-de-sac
The front clearing from the balcony ( how it is today, back there there were a lot more trees before they cut them down)
The railing of the balcony and the main tree which has now been stripped back.

Tails

This is two dreams... which kinda add together to be one. I'm not sure why they followed on, or why it decided to be ridiculously long, but it is!

I was heading home from Uni with my friend Nat. For some reason, instead of going out seperate ways once we got off the bus, she was coming back home with me. We got on the train and got off at the next stop. It was dark when we got off the train and Nat was telling me she felt hungry. My phone beeped and I looked at the message on it. It was from my mother telling me I had to call my sister because something bad was happening. Walking down the street I pointed out a KFC on the corner and Nat decided we'd have dinner there. I gave my sister a call and she was crying. She kept saying she had been to do the doctors and they'd found cancer in her "lady bits". She was really unhappy and then all of a sudden she seemed to get really angry blaming everyone for what had happened to her. Whilst still on the phone, I stood in line with Nat who was reading the menu. There was a girl with blonde hair standing to the right of me with her back to me, looking out the window into the street. I hung up on my sister telling her I'd be home soon to talk about what was going on when the glass behind me smashed. I ducked down, covering my head with my arms to stop the debris hitting me in the head. Once the sound of glass disappeared, I stood up and turned around. The blonde was still standing there, the window debris covering the floor around her. All of a sudden a grey long tail like object with a large... arrowhead end came through the window. It wrapped around the blonde violently and pulled her through the window and into the dark. Nat ran through the side entrance and I hurried to follow her only to be pulled to the side as I burst through the door. It was one of my guy friends who placed his fingers by his lips to motion for me to be quiet. I looked at him questioningly, and he pointed down the side to where the underground car park was. Taking a quick sweep of the area I noticed Nat was gone, assuming she had run off and was safe I followed him into the car park.

The car park was dark and seemed to just be a tunnel leading down. There were no cars here and as we got closer to the bottom I began to notice bits of grey clinging to open spaces, drifting down and covering most of the exits. The materials seemed to stretch out across these opening and however were only attached thinly to the sides. In the middle of the room was a large grey mass with several tail-like parts sticking out of the middle. I kicked a rock while walking down and the tails jerked as if to look in my direction.  "Isn’t she beautiful?" the guy said. The tails seem to come up to him without any intent to harm him. One of them jerked and came towards me, I yelled "fuck this" to the guy and ran up to the entrance of the car park. I could feel the tail behind me as I ran down the side street. I noticed a supermarket in front of me, large metal shutters coming down around it to avoid the creatures. I missed the first window, banging my fists against the metal shutters as the creature made up the distance between us. I ran to the next but was too big to fit through it.The third shutter stopped inches from the ground and I crawled under just in time to hear the tail smash hard again the metal shutter. One of the store clerks helped me up off the floor and I looked around. There seemed to be a few terrified people standing in the supermarket. The metal shutters thudded again, leaving a slight indent which seemed to get deeper with each smash of the tail. One of the clerks handed my a bottle of perfume and told me to spray it on since the creature had my scent. Looking down at the perfume I rolled my eyes letting her know that this perfume would just make my smell more distinct and it wouldn't do anything. One of the clerks brought up a big bottle of green liquid which looked and smelled a lot like mouth wash. He poured it over me, drenching me in a sticky green liquid. As the liquid seeped through my clothing and dripped from my hair the thudding on the door stopped. Standing in the liquid I listened to the outside and couldn't hear anything. The clerk grabbed a couple of bottles and handled me one. "Head for the train, he said, If you make it there, it can't follow you". Opening the door slightly, I climbed out of the door and a couple of the customers within the store followed. We started to run towards the train station. I could feel the liquid drying off me and I could see a shift of movement in the darkness. Running down the stairs, we were lucky a train was waiting with its doors open. I ran through the doors waiting for it to move, a little girl dropped a teddy which i picked up to give her, but she wouldn't come onto the train. Instead she smiled at me and pointed at the door as the tail came down the stairs. The train door slammed closed, trapping the teddy in between the carriages and moved off.

When I got off the train I was back where I started. I called my sister who told me she had gone to "Fresno" which was the next station over from where I was. She would be staying with friends until it was safe. I told her I'd go there in the next day or two once the trains started up again. One of the guys on the train came up to me and asked me if I was ready. Not recognising him I looked at him for a second, judging if I could trust him. I said yes, and he led me up the train stairs.

I woke up here to get a drink and then went back to sleep... The dream continues.

We walked along the bridge and headed down the ramp to the main street. We passed a lot of smal shops which lined the street. He grabbed a couple of sandwiches and handed one to me as we walked, telling me I'd need to eat. I bit into the sandwich not realising how hungry I actually was. We walked down to a large building and I stopped to pick up a strange looking rock. On the back of the rock was a blue and green strip that looked like a microchip but a fair bit larger. I pocketed it and we headed to a side entrance. He reached into my pocket and pulled out the strip and slid it into a small slot  by the door. The door opened and we walked into an elevator. A girl with blonde hair and black glasses stood there. We stepped in and slid the strip into the slot by the elevator buttons. The girl in the elevator gave the guy a smile and a wink; he smiled back as I pressed a long thin button. The elevator jerked to life and moved extremely fast before opening. I pulled the strip out and stepped out into a long corridor which felt more like a testing facility than anything I'd seen before. I opened one of the doors on my left and the guy walked in. There was a strange glowing white-yellow light inside the room and it tickled against my skin. The guy began to scream as the light surrounded him. I tried to pull him out but my hands kept going through him. The light vanished and he ran from the room and out into a park that was next to the facility. I ran after him and he stood there, staring into the trees. I caught up with him and asked him what was wrong. He kept saying he couldn't do this over and over again. I noticed another guy standing in the distance watching him. I pointed him out and asked him who he was. The guy looked up and said, you've got to go back in and get the stuff. We need to fix it. He told me where to go and told me I'd have to get it before they did, as he nodded in the direction the other guy was standing in. I noticed there were more men standing there watching us now. I took the strip from his hand and ran back into the facility. I started heading down corridors unable to find what it was I was looking for when I turned into a shopping centre. I noticed the guys were behind me and following me. I attempted to lose them but they appeared to be everywhere. I dodged in between a family with a lot of trolleys and hid behind a fruit stand. I saw them walk past as I headed back in the opposite direction. I turned into of the staff doors and headed along the walkway to another door. Slipping the strip into the slot again I was back in the facility. I walked around the facility until I could hear a slight humming coming from one of the doors. I unlocked it and walked in. Again there was a bright yellow-white light which tickled at my skin. I walked into the middle of it and saw an image of the men coming through the hall way. Reaching out I picked up a large oxygen tank which seemed to suck the light into it. I noticed a small hatch on the other side of the room and squeezed through it, landing on the pavement. There was a guy sitting in a vehicle which flickered in and out of sight, which looked like a cross between a spaceship and a car, if a space ship came in a triangular shape. He motioned for me to hurry up, looking anxiously at the door, I climbed in and he slammed his fist on the bonnet of the car. The car seemed to flicker in and out of sight. He swore and climbed out. He hit it again and the car came into focus. The men were coming up behind the car as he jumped in and told me to drive. I drove fast through the street, taking sharp corners to lose them. He pointed towards a small alley way, I wasn't sure if we'd fit through but we just squeezed through. He told me to go left I turned sharply, swerving and missing a few pedestrians than seemed none the wise. Taking another turn I appeared to have lost them as I turned again to head down an old dirt road. Getting to the bottom I saw the guy from the train sitting on the steps to the porch of a large white house. I stopped and hopped out of the car, carrying the tank with me. I sat down next to him, the tank balanced in front of me. "now what?" I asked? "I don't know" he said. A car pulled up behind us and 2 girls got out and the little girl. They seemed to stand there for a second then approached us. The guy picked up the tank and hid it behind us. My phone started to ring. I picked it up and woke up.
